Richard brings over 35 years of seasoned expertise in the commercial property sector. In 1991, he co-founded the highly regarded commercial agency Grenville Smith & Duncan, which was subsequently acquired by CBRE, laying the foundation of his remarkable industry credentials.

Currently, Richard serves as Joint Managing Director at Opus Land, a leading UK development and investment firm headquartered in the West Midlands and London. In this role, he oversees delivery of the company’s active development pipeline and the creation of tailored facilities for occupiers across its existing portfolio.

His leadership was recognised in 2019, when he was named one of the Midlands’ most influential property professionals by Insider magazine.

As a Non-Executive Advisor to Urban Edge Developments, Richard offers strategic insight grounded in real-world delivery experience, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of regional market dynamics.
